Samba O’Leck is the longest exisiting Percussion group in Saarland. The Saarlanders joy of life, enthusiasm for new multicultural ideas and the ability to put ideas into sustainable action, led in 1988 to the foundation of the group in Saarbrücken. The name ' Samba O'Leck' is a mixture of the Saarland expression of astonishment ( O Leck ) and a word which virtually stands for Brazil: Samba. The performing group consists of up to 20 persons. The configuration and the repertoire of the band has changed several times in the meantime, but the basic concept remains: Rhythmical moving music played solely on Percussion instruments, directly felt in body, stomach and legs, which has its roots in the north-east of Brazil.
